Two of our most passionate and dedicated readers met four prominent children's authors and Queen Camilla!
Two of our most passionate and dedicated readers were invited to visit some famous authors at a primary school in Bristol. They met Cressida Cowell (who wrote How to Train Your Dragon), Malorie Blackman (Noughts and Crosses, Pig Heart Boy), Rob Biddulph a.k.a Draw with Rob and Francesca Simon (Horrid Henry).
We had an inspiring session with Cressida and Malorie, where we created our dream library. Afterwards, Queen Camilla came to talk to us about our designs! She was amazed by Harvey’s idea of having ‘Experience Pods’ in the library where you could visit different worlds through virtual reality and storytelling.
Harvey and Jay-Dean got stuck into the activities, came up with unique ideas and represented the school impeccably. We couldn’t be prouder!
As part of the ‘Chase Rewarding Future Schools Libraries’ initiative with the National Literacy Trust, New Oak will be receiving 500 brand new books and library furniture to enhance our school library.
