Cherry Class (Year 1) had an amazing time hosting families for our Kings and Queens Celebration!
Last month, we invited parents into New Oak to take part in a special afternoon of fun activities with their children that celebrated the topic of kings and queens. Everybody had a great time dressing up in royal outfits which were then topped off by the glittering crowns we made during the event.
The cooperation on display in the afternoon was amazing as the pupils worked together to create a beautiful joint art piece. To reward them for their hard work, they took turns sitting on the golden class throne. One pupil said, “Wearing my dress and sitting on the throne was fun because it made me feel like a bossy queen!”. It’s fair to say they loved it!
Miss Line led the activities for children and their parents and shared some fascinating facts about kings and queens from all over the world. It was brilliant seeing the class have so much fun as they got stuck in – pupils were so engrossed and loved learning all about kings and queens!
A fantastic regal day ended with a royal feast with parents who brought delicious treats for everyone to enjoy, making it an event fit for a king or queen!
Miss Line was delighted with how the day went: “It was a brilliant day, we had so much fun and loved sharing it with parents!”
