Handwriting

Teachers at Oasis Academy New Oak are committed to helping all students develop a neat and legible handwriting.  From Reception children are encouraged to form letters carefully and accurately, first in pre-cursive and then in cursive (joined up) style.  Their progress is monitored and assessed termly against 4 handwriting milestones. 

Parents are informed when their child reaches a handwriting milestone (please click here for more information).  When students reach milestone 3 they are given their pen licence: it is anticipated that by Year 4 all students will have earned their pen license.
