Operation Encompass

Operation Encompass  is a partnership between the police and schools that helps keep children safe. When the police attend a home because of a domestic abuse incident, they let the school know before the next school day.

The information is shared with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, through a phone call or secure email. This is only to make sure the school can support the child in the right way.

Knowing that something has happened at home means staff can offer care, understanding, and any help the child may need when they come into school.
